Skin Care Wishlist

“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
-George Bernard Shaw

I've gone through countless of beauty blogs in one day that even my work has suffered. I love going through other people's posts, reviews, updates and FOTD, which means Face of the Day! FOTDs are my new favorite things ever. I love looking at these lovely ladies and learning a lot of things from them! It's astounding how make-up can really highlight and add definition to the best things on your face and conceal the bad ones, eh?

There are about 20 new skincare brands I got to know and 50 more different cosmetics I never even thought existed. One reason is that I wasn't particularly focusing on skin care and cosmetics before and, two, those products I've seen aren't even available here from where I am.

I have a few things that I've added to my wishlist. For the first time it's not books, cardigans, or sneakers. I have few skin care products that I really wish I can try, please allow me to share these with you.

Biore Blemish Fighting Cleanser
According to a post in Reviewstream.com it is a great cleanser for the face, as it targets the pores to clean them out and fight against blemishes. What's curious about it is that it's called an Ice Cleanser, maybe it's feels cool to the touch I think. I think this is cool, in another sense of the word. The main reason that propelled me into putting this to my wishlist is that Biore got good reviews from RiceBunny or MichellePhan, a cosmetics/skincare reviewer I really admire. She liked Biore because their line is really good for oily skin.

Neutrogena Invigorating Dual Action Toner
Reviews from TotalBeauty.com reports the effectiveness of Neutrogena toner in leaving your face much cleaner by taking the gunk out of your pores especially when you've put a lot of make-up on. And it's not called Dual Action for just one thing: it also helps in tightening the pores.
A reviewer mentioned that it has a strong but clean scent and it dries quickly on the face. Somebody also mentioned about a tingly feeling. LOL TINGLY?! What's that about? :D

Aveeno Positively Radiant with SPF 15
Aveeno has been plugged countless of times by beauty blogs I frequent that I'm thinking to myself that this must be a staple for all skin care enthusiasts out there. Aveeno Positively Radiant with SPF 15 is a cute little thing! I'm more drawn to it than ever after reading a review from AssociatedContent about good things from this product. Aveeno is pretty to look at, with thick cream and a simple but pleasant smell about it. It's oil-free (yay), and both hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic. It contains soy in it, too, as it is the main ingredient in their Total Soy Complex that promises to solve problems of blotchy or uneven skin tone.

I don't think I'll find this around town very soon, but I am crossing my fingers for it. I can't order online because I am paranoid and it would cost me too much, as I'm only a blasted supplementary holder of a wretched credit card! Oh well, I can still dream and blog about it!

Comments

  1. I have tried the Neutrogena Invigorating Dual Action Toner and it's really good. It has a delicious blueberry like scent I think. And the tingly feeling? It cools your face after applying =)

  2. Aww that's great to hear. I'm saving up for a great toner at the moment. I'm looking into other brands too... I still wonder how toner works, but oh well, as long as it cleans the remaining gunk in my face its fine.

It's Called A Break Up Because It's Broken

There are those times that we beg, pray, wish with all our might that there's a guide that will tell us what to do or what decisions to make during life's most crushing, crucial parts. Well, guess what, one book on how to get over one is now available in your nearest bookstore. I consider myself one of the very lucky few, I've never experienced a real break-up. Yet. But once, I nearly did and I felt all the mass of the entire universe was sitting on my chest. I can't imagine what it must feel like for the real thing. I think I will combust entirely :( I read this book, It's Called A Break Up Because It's Broken by Greg Behrendt and Amira Ruotola-Behrendt , hoping to get some sense of what to do when time calls for it. I'd like to get equipped for that when the situation comes, so this one book is seriously one of my best arsenals. The book teaches women/ladies/girls how to keep their dignity during and even after a break-up. Most of the time we have no idea

Schoolgirl by Osamu Dazai: Melancholic Contemplation

Arriving all the way from USA, I had a tiny traveler plop down right in front of my desk. The moment I held the book, I immediately focused long and hard on the book cover. I've had my small share of contemporary Japanese novels and each had very interesting designs, but not one is as gently arresting as this Schoolgirl by Osamu Dazai published by One Peace Books . Soft yet stark. I'm not one to judge a book by its cover, but it certainly is a good way to hold the interest of the readers. A closer look at the cover would remind one of things that are "beautiful in its simplicity". Everybody knows the Japanese aesthetics, a "set of ancient ideals that include wabi (transient and stark beauty), sabi (the beauty of natural patina and aging), and yûgen (profound grace and subtlety). * " Reflecting at these values, it's wonderful to observe how the cover follows the flow of wabi and yugen, isn't it? But a book should offer more than

VOV Castledew Eyeshadow Palette

I've always wanted an eyeshadow palette though I'm not sure if eyeshadows are my thing. I just love Castledew because it's so princessy and shiny and jewel-like and perfect. A Castle dew eyeshadow palette in all its shiny pretty glory! This is available in the La Core stall (korean beauty shop). Every time I passed by their stall, I always ask to view the palette and I always jump up and down in delight when I see it. Now I have it! MUAHAHAHA! I'll try to play around with the colors! See you!
